Letter from UWK President Mr. Richard Jorgensen to WKF President Mr. Antônio Espinós
Each time the IOC has rejected the WKF’s unilateral bid to enter the Olympic Game Programme, as President of ITKF I have written to you to open the door of dialogue to complete the unification process between the two organizations. As you are fully aware, unification was the definitive stipulation outlined by the IOC Judicial Commission, CAS and supported by the IOC 101st Session as an absolute prerequisite to karate being successfully considered for inclusion in the Olympic Programme. Each time you have ignored my letters, all without the courtesy of a response. Each time you have openly and publicly stated your personal belief that WKF would be able to achieve inclusion onto the Olympic Programme without ITKF and the required unification. Yet, three times the IOC has rejected WKF and your personal opinion proven to be wrong each time. The disregard for the IOC message to WKF has caused unforgivable harm and damage to millions of karate practitioners world-wide. As a result, the ITKF has taken it upon itself to provide the leadership necessary for unification. As a successful result of this effort United World Karate (UWK) has been formed. This organization has been able to unite the diverse karate Disciplines of Traditional Karate (as defined by the IOC in 1993); General Karate and Contact Karate through the Constitution that was developed by the Joint Working Committee for This Constitution respects the IOC requirements and expectations communicated by the IOC Judicial Commission in the same year. I am writing to you as the newly elected President of Unified World Karate (UWK) to invite you to join us in this unified body and to move forward, working for the benefit of all karate-practitioners world-wide as UWK now represents over 80% of the karate practiced. It is my hope that you will respond positively to this invitation. Your response is requested by no later than the end of business day August 3, 2014.Failure to respond by the aforementioned deadline will indicate your refusal to unify the sport of karate.

Описывая 3 неудачные попытки Эспиноса войти в Олимпийскую программу, г-н Йоргенсен предложил войти в объединение UWK, для успешного и взаимовыгодного сотрудничества, не забыв указать, что в его Федерацию входит 80 процентов каратистов мира.Срок ответа был до 3 августа. естественно, г-н Эспинос не подумал отвечать, но написал всем своим представителям о том, что беспокоиться не надо, WKF была и будет единственной спортивной федерацией каратэ,признанной МОК.
